    Noeo Science | Chemistry 1

    Atoms. Crystals. Phase changes.

Noeo Chemistry 1 guides your child through an exciting first exploration of the world of chemistry. We’ve packed your Noeo box with all the books, lesson plans, and experiments you need to turn your home into a science lab on day 1.

Chemistry 1 starts with the basics of the atom and builds step-by-step to more complex material like chemical reactions. By the end, your kid will have a solid grounding in chemistry for deeper scientific study.

Experiment kits and built-in lesson plans mean you can start exploring the atom and creating chemical reactions as soon as you open the box. Skip the Ready, Set, move straight to the Go!

Chemistry isn’t just about atoms and reactions—it’s about bubbles and fertilizer and Marie Curie and salad dressing. We’ve selected every book in Chemistry 1 to make the world come alive.

Every week your kids will get their hands dirty in the real world by brewing oobleck, making fossils, putting eggs in acid baths, and more. And with easy-to-read experiment guides, your kids can do detailed experiments practically on their own—while you get a jumpstart on dinner.

    Covenantal Catechism Book 2

Covenantal Catechism helps parents raise children who need more Scriptural understanding of Genesis to 2 Samuel so they can make a clear and complete biblical confession of faith and live it out. Each lesson has 4 review questions; 4-8 memory questions; memory song; Bible reading assignment; lesson explanation; questions on the lesson.

Book 2 is for beginners or ages 6-7, Book 2 surveys Genesis to 2 Samuel and contains lessons, reviews, memory work and songs, and Bible reading assignments. The Teacher's Handbook contains instructions for effective teaching of Book 1: Genesis to 2 Samuel and an answer key.

    This package includes:

After Jesus had led and taught the disciples three years, He posed this question to them, "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Embedded in that short exchange is the essence of catechism and the essence of the covenant. Covenant is God revealing Himself and his people responding. This catechism curriculum then is built on that premise.

Since God’s revelation of Himself is one of the words He expects His people to respond first of all with words. It is upon that "God speaking, people answering" dynamic that this covenantal catechism program is based.

    Teaching What God Says—The Bible

The first part of a covenantal catechism program then will consist of teaching our children what God has said and is saying to them in His Word, the Bible. The series of books you see on this site is dedicated to assisting in filling that purpose—to reveal through the Bible the Word and works of our God. We may call this first part Scripture Catechism.

Teaching What the Church Answers—The Confessions

The second part of a covenantal catechism program will teach our children how they should answer our God; what confession of faith they should make. This normally takes form by teaching them the confessions of the church to which they belong. Although Line of Promise Press does not yet publish confessional catechetical material, much is available. You will find a page listing material available on this site. We call this second part Confessional Catechism.

What Is Our Doctrinal Position? Reformed and Covenantal

These books are Scripture Catechism, and express a standpoint that is both Reformed and covenantal.

    The teaching is Reformed.

The books teach from a perspective reflecting the great Reformation confessions — the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort, and the Westminster Confession and Catechisms. They belong to the heritage commonly known as “Reformed” to distinguish it from the Lutheran and Anabaptist streams of the Reformation.

Our Scripture catechism books clearly follow the great Reformation themes of Scripture Alone, By Faith Alone, Through Grace Alone, By Christ Alone, and To God Alone Be the Glory.

    The teaching is clearly covenantal.

    • The books and lessons teach that the Bible is the one revelation of the Triune God. God’s revelation is one, His church is one—Old Testament and New Testament—His salvation is one, always and only through Jesus Christ, from Adam onward.
    • They teach that God, from Adam to the present, has included children in the unbelief, and also in the belief, of their parents. These books, therefore, teach that infants born to believers are, along with their parents, members of the Church of Jesus Christ.
    • They teach that as God establishes His covenant with children, He speaks to them through His Word, also by means of catechism instruction, and expects and requires an answer of faith from these children.
    • They teach that the children are a covenantal unity of prophet, priest, and king. This means that the children, as an image of God, have been equipped with intellect, emotion, and will. This catechetical instruction will seek to inform their intellect, their mind; to call for a response of faith and love from their heart, and finally to challenge them to choose, to act, to live, in obedience to God.

John Owen commends catechism teaching by saying, "More knowledge is ordinarily diffused, especially among the young and ignorant, by one hour’s catechetical exercise, than by many hours continual discourse." You will find that all the great Reformers and church leaders of the 16th and 17th centuries—Calvin, Luther, Knox—called catechetical instruction essential.

"What I like most is that it focuses on number sense, mental math and learning that there is often more than one way to approach a math problem. The table of contents and layout makes it very easy to skip around or find what topics that you want to teach. There are plenty of problems and while we only do about 1/3 of them until mastery is demonstrated, you could easily spiral back for review or do more problems when it was a difficult concept.." Jennifer. Logos Cursive

Developed over 20 years in the classroom, B.J. Loyd has created a unique program for teaching handwriting to children.

This workbook teaches students the Modern Cursive style of handwriting. This program has students imitate excellent handwriting while copying selections of worthwhile content and was developed in the 2nd grade classroom at Logos School by veteran teacher B.J. Jordan.

This first book in the series has students copying the letters of the alphabet. Students trace over dotted letters and learn each stroke in the letter one at a time with plenty of practice. Then students practice joining the letters together, and gradually they practice connecting different letters with different words. The book ends with a series of Bible verses which the students copy out by hand.

Appropriate for students in the 2nd grade and up. It includes 10 printing review exercises and 70 exercises.

Don't just memorize spelling lists. Learn how to spell.

Many spelling programs overwhelm kids with a lot of spelling rules, which only pile up as the year goes on. This program, developed by veteran Logos teacher B.J. Loyd, teaches students how to hear blends, clusters, and vowel sounds. The lists are cumulative, which allows students to review words throughout the year, and each lesson features dictation sentences that allow even more practice.

Each lesson has the students write the list four times. Students repeat the words, put the words in alphabetical order, write the words from memory, and write them in cursive.

This edition of Grammar of Spelling has the following all-new features:

    • brand-new formatting
    • lesson instructions for the teacher, with tips on how to teach the rule or sound pattern
    • 2 dictation sentences for every lesson
    • 5 extra words taken from the Logos Press homeschool bundle curriculum
    • point assignments for every dictation sentence and for all the tests

The second grade Spelling level includes 36 lists. They cover blends, diphthongs, endings, number words, money words, days of the week, months of the year, color words, and the student’s address & phone number.
