Jackie was born and raised in New York City. Growing up, Spanish was predominantly spoken in her home. This served her well, as her first job was to help out her parents as an interpreter and probably where she fell in love with languages.
She attended LaGuardia High School where she was a vocal major, and then went to Queens College earning a B.A. in French and a Spanish minor. Upon graduation she began a career in International Banking with Banco Consolidado. Jackie left the business world to home-school all three of her children where she embraced classical education. Currently she is tutoring high-school students in Spanish and teaching American Sign Language to new mothers. She has also taught Spanish in a home-school co-operative.
She seeks to actively engage students and incorporate fun and creative activities in order to make sure that students become proficient in the language. She is creative and resourceful in coordinating and implementing lesson plans that immerse students in both the Spanish language and culture.
She married her high-school sweetheart and has three children, Luke , Julien and Gabrielle.
